Frank Sinatra Tribute
David Alacey trained in performing arts at the prestigious Italia Conti Academy. With numerous T.V appearances to his credit including “Lovejoy” “Inspector Alleyn” and more recently “Strictly Come Dancing” for the BBC. David was one of the first artistes to embrace the Tribute Market and after watching Frank Sinatra perform live in London twice, became one of the first British tributes to ‘The Chairman of The Board’.
He has spent the last thirty years portraying Sinatra in productions worldwide. Including twenty five years in his own celebrated Rat Pack show, which not only appears in concert halls and theatre’s worldwide, but is featured regularly in Television Shows, such as “Strictly Come Dancing” and “GMB”. He has had the honour of performing at a Royal Command Performance for HRH The Princess Royal and in for 3 consecutive years his show was voted the Number One UK Tribute Show by The Agents Association of Great Britain.
After touring with the Vegas Legend and extended Rat Pack member – Buddy Greco, Buddy was moved to say that “This Guy Really is Sinatra” – quite a complement! but even this did not come close to the comment by Frank’s daughter Nancy who said that David’s recording of “New York New York” with a 35 piece orchestra for a new Atari PC game was “too close to my fathers recording” It really doesn’t get better than that!
Greco also asked David to join him at his final recording session and their duet of the Sinatra classic saloon song “One For My Baby” was released worldwide by Acrobat Records.
David continues to perform with The Rat Pack and with his solo show “Frank” while producing new tours and productions including “Swing With Laughter” which featured a star cast including Jimmy Tarbuck, Anita Harris, Kenny Lynch and Bobby Davro. He also toured the UK in “Frankly Marilyn” which he devised and based on the relationship between Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe.
By booking David you will be experiencing a genuine link to the golden age of entertainment, who has been acknowledged by his peers and legendary performers as a leading interpreter of Great American Songbook and the British custodian of Sinatra’s legacy.
“Alacey seemed to have somehow imbibed the very essence of ‘ole blue eyes’ before coming on stage. His performance was breathtaking – seriously! The tone, the modulation and the rhythm in his voice throughout the evening was genuine Sinatra. His masculine charm was also apparent in his pristine characterisation and it was with effortless charisma he strolled into the audience and sang I’ve Got You Under My Skin while chatting and engaging with the ladies – just like the icon”
